Congratulations to all the high school sailors who qualified for the 2008 ISSA Team Racing National Championship. We raced 90 races in two days and a re-sail. The Race Committee was right on the mark starting earlier today - the winds have died entirely, even though the sun has finally come out. Today's racing was extremely competitive and tight. The overall winner sailed a terrific championship round, thoroughly dominating racing today with a perfect 6-0 Championship Round.
The results by Division are as follows:
Championship:
St Georges (overall 14-3; 6-0 in Championship Round)
Tabor Academy (12-5; 3-3 in Championship Round)
Point Loma (11-6 overall)
Newport Harbor (8-9 overall)
In the Silver Division,
Antilles
Severn (winning the tie break with Norfolk Collegiate)
Norfolk Collegiate
Lake Forest
In the Bronze Division,
Coronal Del Mar
St Thomas Aquinas (over Jesuit in a tie breaker)
Jesuit
Bainbridge.
The final rotation and results for two and event will be posted today.
The Midwest Interscholastic Sailing Association, "MISSA", was proud to host this year's team racing Championship. Lake Minnetonka is one of the best sailing venues in the Midwest and the sailors who came to the event got to experience perfect MISSA racing weather. This event could not have happened without the many volunteers and the Lake Minnetonka Sailing School/Minnetonka Yacht Club. Thank you to all the volunteers and regatta staff who contributed.
Fair Sailing.
